We can’t wait to celebrate on Sunday! Come to Szozda Gallery (501 W Fayette Street) at 1 o’clock April 1 for an afternoon of Marvelous Spectacle in the form of edible books to be admired, created and then consumed! In addition to the unusual and wonderful book display that everyone can participate in, there will be more sensory infusion with a poetry reading by Underground Poetry Spot, a group newly awarded a Salt City Dishes grant. Also there will be amusing refreshments and a build-your-own-edible-book station stocked with a myriad of splendid treats that you can finally have a good reason to play with! And there’s more! We are very happy to present a selection of exquisite items for what will undoubtedly be a rousing raffle! Here is a sneak peek of some of the items that are available to be won.

Raffle Tickets will be available priced at $1 for items valued under $100 or 6 tickets for $5. Deluxe items valued over $100 will have tickets priced at $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. Bring your dollars for this excellent opportunity to own work by some of the finest local artists or be the lucky winner of something unexpected while also supporting Salt City Book Arts and Szozda Gallery.
You may also participate at no cost by bringing your own edible book to display! An entry may be book shaped such as a codex, accordion, scroll, tablet, etc. They may be based on a pun of a book title or depict a particular book cover that is displayed next to the edible. Bring your creation to the gallery at 1 o'clock along with a sheet that has your name, book title and all ingredients listed.
